Group Home services are congregate residential support services consisting of training, habilitation, and support to enable an individual with an intellectual disability and/or mental health disorder to acquire, improve, or maintain the health status and functional skills necessary to live in a community setting. These services provide primary support to individuals who are living in a CVCS-operated group home facility. Services are provided by paid staff providing continuous oversight and on-call availability 24 hours per day. Group homes are located in Altavista, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Lynchburg. ICF-MR services are intensive residential support at the highest community-based level. Services are similar to those provided in group homes with the addition of professional contractual staff (i.e. Behavioral Psychologist, Dietician, Education Specialist, etc.).
