What are Housing and Residential Services?
What do we do?
Group Home services are congregate residential support services consisting of training, habilitation, and support to enable an individual with mental retardation to acquire, improve, or maintain the health status and functional skills necessary to live in a community setting. These services provide primary support to consumers who are living in a CVCS-operated group home facility. Services are provided by paid staff providing continuous oversight and on-call availability 24 hours per day. Group homes are located in Altavista, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Lynchburg.
ICF-MR services are intensive residential support at the highest community-based level. Services are similar to those provided in group homes with the addition of professional contractual staff (i.e. Behavioral Psychologist, Dietician, Education Specialist, etc.).
Who do we work with?
Group Home services are provided for individuals at least 18 years old with a primary diagnosis of mental retardation. Individuals must be Medicaid-eligible/approved, meet DMAS Medicaid waiver services criteria, and secure a waiver slot.
