     Early Intervention provides a full range of services to babies with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. The goal of services is to provide the formal and informal supports to meet outcomes identified by families for their children. Our specific goal is to assist parents in meeting the unique developmental needs of each child. We provide outreach, coordinate services, and make referrals in the community as needed.

Who do we work with?

     We work with babies, ages 0-3, who have a significant delay in one or more areas of development, or who have a diagnosed disabling condition, and their families. Our area of services includes the cities of Lynchburg and Bedford; the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell.

How do I make a referral?

     Early Intervention services can be accessed by calling (434) 455-0030. Referrals are made directly to the Part C Coordinator or to any Early Intervention service coordinator. Referrals are frequently made directly by parents or pediatricians. Anyone, however, can make a referral with a parent's consent.
